In Korea, there are many superstitions about dreams. Some dreams are widely regarded to be lucky. For example, a dream about pigs is a good dream. However, there are other dreams that are considered to be bad luck. There is something called a taemong. Traditionally, it is a dream that comes before someone has a baby. Usually, the mother-to-be has the dream. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes a friend or close acquaintance can have the dream, too. There are many folk stories about the taemong of historical figures. In the past, people believed that dreams can predict the future. However, this is not a widespread belief any more. These days, dream interpretations are done just for fun.
