When traveling by air, people have to go through airport security. Each country has a different set of rules. However, tight security is found in most places. Usually, travelers have to put down their luggage and take off any metal objects, like watches or belts. Electric devices have to be taken out. The items pass through an X-ray machine. The traveler walk through a metal detector. If it goes off, additional inspection is needed. Sometimes, large amount of liquids or dangerous items like lighters or sharp objects are taken away. The process can be time-consuming. To save time, it helps to check in advance which items are permissible. Airport security can feel like a hassle, but it's necessary to guarantee safety.

I hate going through airport security.

Why? It's not very difficult.

It's so inconvenient. I don't want to wait.

It's for everyone's safety.
