In Korea, children enter elementary school in the year they turn y years old. The school term begins in March, and students attend elementary school for six years. Usually, the homeroom teacher teaches most subjects, Some specific subjects are taught by teachers who specialize in that subject. After graduating from elementary school, students enter middle school. Starting in middle school, there is a dedicated teacher for each subject. Students attend middle school for 3 years and go on to high school. There are general high schools, but there are also special purpose high schools for the arts, science, and foreign languages, as well as international schools. When students enter their second year of high school, they choose between humanities and sciences tracks. In their senior year of high school, students can be accepted to college through rolling admissions or regular admissions. Of course, some students choose to enter workforce right after high school.
