Another thing I liked about the class was the fact that I was the youngest. There were a few other freshmen with me, but it was mainly seniors and then a few juniors. The funny thing about the class was that I was doing really well and my teacher noticed that. So she asked me to help some of the seniors who weren't doing so well. And helping them was just a funny thing because I was so young.
About a third of the 2.2 million tons of bombs that dropped on Laos by U.S. forces during a nine-year secret operation during the Vietnam War remain there and remain undetonated. When U.S. President Barack Obama becomes the first sitting U.S. president to visit Laos in September, he is expected to announce an increasing in funding to support UXO clearnance, that's undetonated ordnance and support services. While most of the focus in on efforts to clean up the deadly ordnance, more than 15,000 UXO accident survivors are requiring ongoing care but have few options.
