날까마귀 2019. 1. 14. 10:50

Talk about how people pay for group gatherings these days.

When people gathered in the past, someone stepped forward to foot the bill. However, when people have get-gathering these day, it's customary to split the bill. Generally, one person acts as the treasurer and pays upfront. Then, that person divide the cost by the number of participants, and share the amount in a group chat. The participants wire the share to the treasurer. Splitting the cost this way has led the phrase "1/N'. New apps have been developed to make life easier to the treasurer. Going Dutch this way for gatherings does away with the need for one person to pay the lion's share. A penny-pinching culture is taking root these days. In this regard, sharing the cost for gathering makes a lot of sense.

It's getting late. Let's call it a night.

Wow, I didn't know so much time had passed. How much is the bill?

Don't worry about it. This one is on me.

Thanks a lot! I will be sure to buy dinner the next time we meet.
