Talk about housewarming parties.

When Koreans move into a new house, they invite family and friends to a housewarming party. They prepare food with great care for the guests. The guests visit with the hope that the resident will be happy in the new house. To express this hope, they prepare small housewarming gifts. Generally, they bring daily necessaries like toilet paper or detergent. These day, a lot of people also bring food to share, like cakes or wine.

 

Talk about when you were invited to a housewarming party.

A friend recently moved into a new house, and invited me to a housewarming party. She had scrimped and saved for a long time and finally bought an apartment. I wanted to congratulate her. The party was on Friday night, so I had some peace of mind. As a gift, I chose a pretty framed painting. I also bought an ice cream cake for everyone to share. When I got to my friend's house, there was a smorgasbord of delicious food. We took a tour of the house and stuffed ourselves. We had a whale of a time. It was a very memorable housewarming party.
