Talk about the feeling of relative deprivation.

In our lives, we feel relative deprivation in many ways. We most often feel that way when we try to build up our wealth.

Housing prices have shot up in recent years. People who stretched themselves and took out loans to buy an apartment enjoyed a large bump in their personal wealth. The stock market hit rock bottom becasue of COVID-19 last year. But it then rebounded sharply and set record highs. Many people made a bundle by investing in the bull market.

That's why people who weren't able to earn as much feel a strong sense of relative deprivation. It's impossible to be indifferent to money in today's world. I think that it's important to study up on investment techniques.

Is the home you live in right now in your name?

No. It's a lump-sum deposit rental.

I see.

I look forward to becoming a homeowner someday.

But housing prices are very high now, so it's a tall order.

You're right. I always feel jealous of people who own a home.
