COVID-19 has changed education forever.
Over a year has passed since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, and contries are at different points in their COVID-19 infection rates. The same can be said for vaccination rates and procedures as well. More than 1.2 billion children have been affected by school closures due to the worldwide pandemic. Students in some areas are returing to classroom, but others are still attending classes online.
COVID-19 created a sudden shift from in-person classes to online alternatives. Many are now wondering whether the prevalence of online learning will contine to persist post-pandemic. One thing is for certain. Such shift would have a massive impact on education worldwide.
Online learning has given rise to new concerns. Some worry that an unplanned move to online learning with no proper training and insufficient preparatin will result in a lower quality of educaiton. However others are hopeful that a new model of education combining offline and online will emerge with significant benefits.
Some universities have demonstrated successful transition already. They are touting the benefits of having a new platform at their disposal. Teachers can reach out to their students efficiently and effectively through chat groups, video meetings, and document sharing. These advantages are why some believe that traditional learning and e-learning can go hand in hand.
